Andrea began playing the cello at the age of 12. She quickly fell in love with the instrument, and played in a number of youth orchestras and festivals. She attended the University of Northern Colorado on several talent and academic scholarships, and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Cello Performance. She has played in UNC’s University Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, the Longmont Symphony, the Loveland Orchestra, and a number of pit orchestras. She has played in festivals and concerts in California, Alaska, Massachusetts, Germany, and Austria.

She also is a luthier, and makes and repairs instruments in her home shop. She has a special affinity for building fractional-sized cellos, and her main instrument is a 5-string 3/4-sized cello she completed in 2019. Learn more about her woodworking and lutherie here.
